The Consortium was established over 25 years ago to assist member states in achieving their goals and objectives for comprehensive guidance and counseling and career guidance through sharing ideas and resources. Through its initiatives and projects, the Consortium brings state supervisors and other guidance leaders together for shared understanding, information exchange, and joint development projects. The Consortium also works with major partners in the field of guidance and counseling, career development, and counseling research to help state supervisors stay current and on the cutting edge of leadership. It is our intention that the Consortium Website will be a place for state supervisors and other guidance leaders to converge and gain insight and information, find useful resources, join projects and initiatives, get assistance when needed, and converse through the Listserve. The Consortium publishes and promotes timely materials on topics of use to state supervisors and their local districts and also partners with very select companies to bring you tested materials at great prices. Our newsletter, published at intervals throughout the year, contains a wealth of information on application of current knowledge as well as reviews of products by counselors and facilitators who are actually using the materials. You'll also find information here on our National Award Program, the ABC Career Guidance Awareness Project. We hold quarterly conference calls, open to members, when state sharing is enthusiastically encouraged. On occasion, we open these calls to all state supervisors and guidance leaders so that individuals can get a flavour of what the Consortium is all about! Membership in the Consortium confers many benefits. One of the most exciting is the connection with others who are excited about the same work and face the same challenges. We support and encourage each other with good work and excellent ideas. Join us and see!
