THE ADVANTAGES OF CONSORTIUM MEMBERSHIP

Matching Grants Program (NEW). Consortium members may apply for special matching grants from the Consortium for selected career guidance materials that are designated as “Best Practice” and proven to be effective programs/products. A set of materials on the topic of career awareness and career exploration could be selected, and schools within Consortium states could apply based upon an RFP. This would be perfect for states and schools that are involved in the ABC program. All applicants would be eligible.

Networking and information-sharing: Opportunities to plan and organize national career guidance initiatives which involve all states. Opportunities to build a state peer network with sharing of new products/services, (e.g., e-portfolio, state standards/models in guidance and counseling, career materials, online access to state developed materials, etc.). Conference and Workshop opportunities designed specifically for the needs of State Guidance and Counseling Program Leaders.

Access to materials: Invitations to pilot new career related programs or products. Monthly to quarterly mailings with free materials, newsletters, and other information to keep you posted on the latest trends and issues affecting career guidance.

Website: Access to a broad-based website, especially designed for State Guidance and Counseling Program Leaders, that features products, projects, Listserve, Discussion Forum and key state information at www.guidanceconsortium.org
